In January 2016, Cebu Hosted the 51st International Eucharistic Congress (IEC), an event that brought in over 10,000 participants from all over the world. Contructed by Duros Development Corporation, the IEC Pavilion became the main venue of the congress – simultaneously hosting plenary sessions, meetings, conferences, and exhibitions. It played a big part in the success of the 51st IEC that left a positive imprint in the heart of international and Filipino delegates alike.

Moving forward, the IEC pavilion makes a transformation as it opens its doors to all kinds of events – conventions, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and more – catering to a more varied audience; thus, the evolution of IEC Pavilion into the IEC Convention Center Cebu or IC3.
